RVIPS Chinese New Year Celebrations
20th Jan 2023
Primary 5 were delighted to welcome Karen Scrivens from the Chinese Community Assosiation along with Sunny Hung and Rachael Smith from the local community. During their visit they shared their knowledge of the Chinese New Year and the celebrations in Chinese culture. The children also enjoyed learning about the twelve animals from the Chinese Zodiac calendar and exploring why the Chinese New Year is one of the most important holidays in the Chinese calendar. The children learned how to use chopsticks and got to sample some delicious food. They loved learning about the dragon dance and how the dragon moves to the beat of the drums.
