P3 - Safer Internet Day!
Today was Safer Internet Day and the whole school took part. This year’s theme was ‘Want to talk about it? Making space for conversations about life online.’
In Primary 3 we brainstormed different types of online technology and what Primary 3 like to do online. We focused on the term ‘online’ and devices that we used online. Through a range of games and activities we discussed lots of incredible things we can do online, and highlighted that the internet isn’t perfect and sometimes people use it in ways that are unkind or unsafe.
We really enjoyed hearing the story of ‘Hanni and the Magic Window’ and loved creating our own magic window online scenes.
We played a fun board game called ‘Can You Help Me Please?’ which encouraged us to act out online scenarios, discussing how the situation might make us feel, and who would be the best person to talk to. ‘Draw A Ladder’ was another great game that asked us to rank online activities starting with our favourite at the top!
We had such a super day, and all know it is really important to share our worries with a trusted grown up and to never share personal information or photos online without permission.
We can’t wait to hear what Mrs Miller thinks of our colourful entries for the school Internet Safety poster competition! Keep your eyes peeled for some of the entries displayed in our school!
