P3 World Book Day

 World Book Day is a celebration! It's a celebration of authors, illustrators, books and (most importantly) it's a celebration of reading.

To start our day P3 loved sharing our favourite book characters made out of POTATOES!  We were blown away by each child's amazing artist talent!  We can’t wait to see the full school potatoes displayed in the hall tomorrow!

Then Mr Ash a local author (who Mrs Ash knows lol ) was delighted to be invited into our classroom not only to see P3's clever characters but to tell us about his book characters including 'The Boy With A Lettuce For A Nose!".  We couldn’t let Mr Ash leave without a mini drama lesson too! 

Our morning didn’t stop there as we enjoyed our snack on the way to the library!  We were welcomed by Leona who read us two brilliant books, we learnt the library rules, looked at lots of different book covers and discussed the key parts of what makes a super-duper interesting book cover and blurb!  We even got to use our library cards and check books out by ourselves!

In the afternoon we settled down to watch famous world authors like David Walliams who read extracts from his funny books.  We were so inspired by our day that we look forward to writing our very own mini books!  Mrs Ash and Kris know we make wonderful authors!
