P3 Safer Internet Day
Yesterday was Safer Internet Day and the whole school took part. This year’s theme was ‘Free to be me! – exploring identity online’.
In primary 3 we brainstormed different types of online technology and what Primary 3 like to do online. We focused on identity i.e. the things that make you…YOU! Through a range of games and activities we explored that what you do online forms part of your identity too. We created IPad profiles that encouraged the children to create a fun aviator that would protect their identity online.
We really enjoyed hearing the story of Digiduck’s Famous Friend and loved answering the ‘time to chat’ questions about staying safe online.
To keep active, we played the Emoji game, which helped us decide what to do if we accidently came across images or videos that we found upsetting or scary. We all know it is really important to share our worries with a trusted grown up and to never share personal information or photos online without permission.
We had such a super day and can’t wait to hear what Miss Holmes thinks of our colourful entries for the school Internet Safety poster competition! Keep your eyes peeled for some of the entries displayed in our school!
To embed our leaning, we had a visit from the REIM internet safety team today. We created a My Trust Tree and have talked about trusted adults we can speak to if we need support when online.
