RADAR - Risk Awareness, Danger Avoidance Resource Centre
Primary 7 travelled to Belfast to participate in a range of workshops based around the themes of personal safety, e-safety, fire safety, road safety and social responsibility. We had an amazing time at the RADAR centre but more importantly learned some very valuable lessons about; the dangers of our roads, fire hazards, the impact our actions can have on the local community and how the judicial system operates. The RADAR centre was a converted warehouse with a life size street with a real, bus, crashed car, train carriage, shops, a fire station, courthouse, police station and even a park!!! It was so realistic - even the bit when some of us were arrested and put in jail!!We have developed our road safety skills, understand how to keep safe online, know the dangers of fire as well as drug and alcohol awareness and how to be socially responsible in our local community. It was a fantastic trip and one we will always remember.
